Our Story
et al. originated from a group of people serving the Orthopaedics and Spine spaces who recognized that while patients were increasingly sourcing their musculoskeletal care online, only a paucity of providers were leveraging digital resources to increase their online visibility.
In today’s digital era where surgeons, practices, and organizations are increasingly evaluated by their online credibility, it has become a strategic imperative to engage with prospective patients and demonstrate expertise by way of digital platforms. Otherwise, many excellent musculoskeletal providers will be judged by their online absence in the eyes of prospective patients, and will increasingly lag behind.
Our inspiration comes from the collection of surgical allies we serve, driven by the desire to highlight their expertise to those in need. In so doing, we aim to improve outcomes by ensuring the right patients are in the right hands for their musculoskeletal care.
The latin term “et alia,” meaning “and others,” is commonly used in academic citations when referencing a principal investigator with multiple authors.

For us, the term “et al.” encompasses all the elements beyond a single surgical intervention that lead to its success; the time, people, and collaboration involved along the way. This includes years of training and innovation, coupled with the support of expert mentors, surgical teams, hospital staff, family members, and many others who play a vital role in the process.

We are the “and others,” by facilitating the connection between providers and patients, ensuring patients with unique pathologies can find the right experts to steward their treatment.
It is by intent that et al. is minimalistic, lowercase, and a mere five characters that carries little meaning without its antecedent. However, it serves as a vital extension that enables the principal author to perform at their highest function.
